Financial Aid is available to Wilmington Friends School students who are currently enrolled or to whom enrollment has been offered. Financial Aid funds are allocated strictly according to need. Each family's ability to contribute to the costs of a Friends School education is based upon the information they supply to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) in Princeton, New Jersey. Current families reapply each year in late fall. The families of new applicants apply through SSS during the admissions process for the following fall. All families seeking aid must forward copies of their tax forms and related schedules directly to the admissions office.

Financial Aid Procedures and Checklist for 2007-08 Applications

Financial Aid Application Deadlines:

December 3, 2007 - Returning families
December 10, 2007 - Families applying to 5th-12th grades
January 7, 2008 - Families applying to preschool through 4th grades

To School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) in Princeton, send:

  1. Signed Parents' Financial Statement - please keep a copy for your records.
  2. Processing fee (minimum of $24.00) - payable to SSS.

To Wilmington Friends School's Admissions Office, send:

  1. Signed copy of parents' 2006 Federal Tax Returns with all accompanying schedules (2007 Returns to follow on April 15, 2007).
  2. Divorced/Separated Parent Financial Statement, to be completed by the non-custodial parent, and non-custodial parent's and stepparent's tax returns and schedules (if applicable).
  3. Business/Farm Statement and business tax forms (including sole proprietors, C and S corporations).

Please remember:

  1. We will only be able to consider applications with completed tax returns and schedules.
  2. Be sure to sign and date the Parents' Financial Statement and to fully explain all circled items in #32.
  3. Any delays in supplying information to SSS or Wilmington Friends School will jeopardize a family's consideration for available funds.
  4. Returning families whose Financial Aid applications are complete will be notified of their awards in mid-February.
  5. New applicant families who have completed the financial aid process and who are offered enrollment will be notified of a financial aid decision at the same time.
