    Wilmington Friends School, a preschool to 12 Quaker, college preparatory day school located in Wilmington, Delaware and enrolling 700 students, has an exciting employment opportunity for a full-time upper school math teacher beginning in the fall of 2019.
    A highly qualified candidate is one who:

    • Has significant experience teaching a variety of mathematics courses at the high school level, preferably including Advanced Placement statistics and International Baccalaureate curriculum
    • Has an advanced degree in mathematics
    • Is familiar with current research, trends, best practices and pedagogy
    • Understands and loves working with high school aged students
    • Is committed to working in a diverse, multicultural environment
    • Has a high comfort level using technology in the classroom
    • Is willing and eager to take on significant co-curricular responsibilities outside of the classroom as assigned by the Upper School Division Head

  • MS Summer Camp Site Director

     
    The Wilmington Friends Middle School Summer Camp has begun a search for the position of Site Director for the 2019 Summer Camp season, which operates from June 17 through August 23, 2019. Normal camp hours for the position are from 7:30 am-4:30 pm. During that time, the Site Director would be responsible for the following:

    Supervise camp staff
    Respond to parent phone calls, emails, and inquiries specific to camp
    Provide staff with feedback on performance and monitor progress toward goals
    Maintain regular, effective, and as-needed communications with parents of campers
    Help plan and implement weekly activities for Base Camp
    Manage crises - minor and significant - as needed
    Assist in counselor training
    Develop and maintain an effective system for communicating and enforcing camper expectations for routine behaviors
    Report any facility repairs or concerns to maintenance/building services
    Greet parents during morning sign in/pick up
    Explain sign-in procedures to campers new to Friends
    Help to maintain common spaces of facility (cafeteria, wrestling room, gyms)
    Manage profits/deposits from Middle School Snack Shack
     
    While the ideal candidate is an individual who is available for the majority of the summer during which time the position is available, we welcome applicants who are only available for part of the summer and would be willing to split the role depending on interest.
