8th Graders Visit Philadelphia

8th graders spent the day in Philadelphia as they prepared to begin their American Revolution unit.
In the morning, students toured the Museum of the American Revolution, where they explored not only key events of the Revolution, but also the critical roles that African Americans, Indigenous people, and women played in helping the colonists secure independence.

In the afternoon, advisories toured the Independence Mall area. Each student presented research they had conducted on the historical significance and architecture of famous landmarks—including Independence Hall, the Betsy Ross House, and America’s first post office, established by Benjamin Franklin.
