SISTER HUGS! A story about hugs from Liza Conces, our pre-kindergarten music and movement teacher:

"Each day at noon, a handful of early years (preschool) friends go home for the afternoon. The half day friends say goodbye to their classmates and head upstairs through the kindergarten/first grade hallway to reach the circle outside where their families are waiting. This year, two half day friends - Gilby and Michael - have big sisters in Teacher Patrick’s first grade class. It has become our habit to stop each day for a sister hug on our way down the hall.

As soon as we approach the first grade classroom door, we hear friends call out, 'sister hugs! It’s time for sister hugs!' and the rest of us watch and absorb the love during this time when hugs are in such short supply. I am so grateful that Teacher Patrick has welcomed our midday hugs this year."
