Led by faculty advisor and Director of Technology Gregg Miller, the WFS Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) club meets every other “Day 5” and simply tries to uplift members of the WFS upper school through, as you might have guessed, acts of kindness.
As one of the largest WFS clubs with over 70 members, you can constantly find RAK members spreading joy throughout the community by organizing bake sales in which everyone enjoys a delicious treat or hanging up motivational posters on every athlete’s locker before a big game.
Corey Silberglied ’22, one of three senior clerks states, “When I was a first-year student, the group of seniors that led Random Acts of Kindness were so welcoming and made students throughout the school feel special. When I joined, it felt good to know that I was spreading positivity throughout the school and I wanted to step into a leadership role when the time came. It feels good to carry on such a strong tradition with my co-clerks, Kaely and Caroline.” Last week, in honor of Valentine’s Day, these three clerks continued to spread this positivity around as they organized a Valentine’s Day Carnations Sale where students and faculty members alike purchased flowers to celebrate and show their appreciation for one another. All of the funds from this event will enable Corey, Caroline, and Kaely to continue their various RAK initiatives throughout the spring!
Before the Class of 2024 heads off on their senior explorations next week, they attend a series of seminars ("Senior Seminars") aimed at giving them tools for adulthood.
