Carlos Charriez has worked in the field of education since 1999, starting off teaching high school  science in Montgomery County Maryland Public Schools for three years. Looking to broaden his global perspective, Carlos spent four years teaching middle school science overseas at the American School of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Upon leaving South America, Carlos found work at Wilmington Friends School teaching 6th grade science and has been part of the Friends community ever since. Carlos has been involved in summer camp programs since he graduated college leading everything from tennis, service learning and local adventure camps here in Wilmington. In  2009, Carlos took on the job of Lower School Camp Director and has since broadened his involvement in the camp to include Middle School Camp programming since 2012. What Carlos enjoys most about summer camp is witnessing campers make new friends, try new things and most of all having fun.
  • Kizzy Saunders -- Summer Camp Registrar

Kizzy joined the Wilmington Friends School community as a summer camp counselor in 2005, transitioned to assistant preschool teacher that Fall and looks forward to returning to see new and familiar faces each year. As an added bonus, Kizzy also coaches middle school sports during the school year where she is able to see some of her former, much older, preschool students, and reinforce many of the skills taught when they were under her care as toddlers. It is safe to say that Kizzy LOVES working with children and appreciates the opportunity to work in a community that allows her to see her students grow from fearless and innocent toddlers into caring, confident and responsible young adults. Each year, Kizzy looks forward to helping her children learn new things and is intentional in learning from each of them as they explore their world together. When she's not in the classroom, Kizzy enjoys spending time with family, camping, hiking, working out, singing, and enjoying each day she is blessed to see.
  • Victoria Figgs - LS Camp Director

Victoria Figgs joined the WFS Camp Staff in 2023. She finished the school year working as a Behavior Support Specialist at an elementary school in the Christina School District. Victoria recently completed a Master of Social Work degree program with Delaware State University and is excited to begin a Ph.D. program with a research assistantship for the College of Human Development and Family Sciences at UD. Victoria devotes much of her professional and personal life to advocating for children to have their voices heard and needs met. She volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in the foster care system and serves as the “quality control” among many systems with which the children interact and their voice at their court hearings. Her newest volunteer position is becoming an Educational Surrogate Parent for children in foster care. This allows her to be part of the educational team for a foster child who qualifies for accommodations through the Individuals with Disabilities Educational Act, ensuring they receive appropriate services.

  • Lisa Morgan - Mighty Munchkins Camp Director

Lisa Morgan began her journey at Wilmington Friends School in 2005, as a downtown Friends Assistant Teacher/After School Staff.  Throughout the academic year she spends her time with teaching the Kangas in preschool. Lisa is passionate about all that she puts her mind to. She explodes with creativity and dedication as she plans experiences with her students. Lisa believes that every student has much to offer when they walk through her doors. She does her best to make sure each child's voice is heard. While teaching children that "they can do hard things", its also important that I allow them to be themselves as they are learning to respect others.  My journey being a Preschool teacher and a Camp Director has taught me lots of things but the most important one I remember is that while I am teaching children I am also being taught by the children I teach. GO Friends!
  • Sarah Jones - Mighty Munchkins Camp Director

Sarah Jones first joined Wilmington Friends School as a summer camp counselor in 2011 while she was studying Early Childhood and Special Education at Clarion University. Throughout the years, she has taken on many more roles at camp including Adventure Camp counselor, Art Specialist, Mighty Munchkins Director, and LS Camp Director. In Fall of 2018, Sarah became a full-time employee at Wilmington Friends as a Pre-Kindergarten Assistant teacher and Kindergarten Art teacher. Over the past 10 years, Friends has become a second home to Sarah and she loves continuing her work at summer camp, where her journey first began. Sarah's favorite part of summer camp is spending time with all the campers, helping them make connections and most importantly, having fun!!!
