Middle School Social Studies

In social studies, seventh graders had the opportunity to visit with a Cuban immigrant, Reinaldo, and learn more about his experience in a communist country.
Reinaldo left Cuba in 2015 after deciding that the difficulties and restrictions of life there were not sustainable. In the summer of 2021, he became a US citizen and has embraced the opportunities here to make a new life with a career and a young family. Reinaldo spoke to students about life in Cuba and what it was like immigrating to the United States, including his first experience at McDonald's!
