Learning Through Experience: Mindfulness and Teamwork in Action

6th and 8th grade students stepped beyond the traditional classroom for meaningful hands-on learning experiences.

As part of their study of ancient India, 6th graders practiced yoga and meditation while learning about Hinduism and Buddhism. Through the experience, they explored the connection between mind and body, discovering that yoga offers not only physical benefits but can also help reduce stress and anxiety.

Meanwhile, 8th graders spent a day on the Brandywine River with Northbrook Canoe Co. in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Their canoe trip fostered teamwork, resilience, and confidence while allowing students to enjoy the sights and sounds of Chester County.
