Twisters, Earthquakes, and the Truth Behind the Blockbusters

For her Middle School Mastery Project, Viviana Russo ’31 explored Hollywood’s portrayals of natural disasters and how accurate they really are.
Using films such as “Twister,” “Twisters,” and “San Andreas,” Viviana examined the science behind tornadoes and earthquakes, then compared movie scenes to real-world events. She highlighted both the accuracies and inaccuracies on screen, helping her classmates see where Hollywood is accurate and where it may take creative liberties.

Great work, Viviana!
