WFS Students Explore Australia Through Quaker Exchange

Alper Cebe ’29, Bayan Katirai ’29, and Will Van Druff ’29 all participated in the Quaker School Student Exchange Program this summer!
The goal of the Quaker School Student Exchange Program is for WFS students and the students from The Friends’ School, Hobart, to experience another culture and region of the world within the familiar setting of a Quaker school. It is hoped that students will see the commonalities among Quaker schools along with the unique qualities that each school has to offer.

Here are a few highlights from each student’s experience:

🔹Bayan spent time cooking dinner for his host family and even hosted a Fourth of July barbecue for all of the Quaker Exchange students, a direct result of his 8th grade Growth Challenge. He also had an amazing time hiking the Three Capes Track for four days.

🔹Alper particularly enjoyed exploring Sydney and sent us the amazing photo featured in slide two. He loved meeting and making so many new friends throughout the trip.

🔹Will counted swimming in Wineglass Bay, the famous crescent-shaped beach on Tasmania’s east coast, as one of the highlights of his experience.
