UPenn Social Innovators Program

Gavin Gray ’28 was one of three WFS students who participated in the UPenn Social Innovators Program this spring. This 12-week virtual program allows students to learn more about social entrepreneurship and earn a Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Pennsylvania.
Gavin’s project, titled Community Connection Consulting,  focused on newspapers, specifically looking at the following questions: Do people still engage with newspapers? Does social media help newspapers? What other things can news organizations do to help people become more engaged?

Gavin connected with newspapers, specifically Spotlight Delaware and The Whittier Miscellany, and created advice charts for these two organizations and how they can better reach more audience members (and it is not simply doing more on social media).
