Here is what the students had to say about their original work: Each year our school chooses a Quaker testimony to focus on and this year is was Peace. Now more than ever we need Peace in our lives and in our world. We decided for our spring concert that we wanted to share our simple observations of how we show peace in hopes to inspire others. Through conversations and writing we first created the lyrics to our song. We organized our lyrics into three sections, (1) how peace sounds, (2) how peace looks, and (3) how peace feels. We then decided on a meter and chord progression and improvised melodic ideas over that chord progression. We came up with the chorus first and then the verses.
