Twin Poets Laureate Visit WFS for Black History Month

As part of Black History Month celebrations, middle and upper school students met with Delaware’s Twin Poets Laureate, Nnamdi O. Chukwuocha (also a WFS parent) and Al Mills.
Nnamdi and Al, who have been Delaware's Poets Laureate since 2015, provided examples of how their words and their voices speak to modern-day conditions. Their goal is to give purpose, lift others, and inspire change and positive action in their communities and among the people they interact with. They did just that and spoke with our students about how to use their voices, to be unafraid to be their unique selves, to love themselves and their purpose, and to recognize themselves as strong, even when they might be feeling small and powerless.
