QUEST Scholars Explore Etruscan Civilization Ahead of Summer Archaeological Experience in Italy

Wilmington Friends School students, who will participate in our QUEST Service Trip to Populonia, Italy, in June to work at an archaeological dig site, visited the Penn Museum in preparation for their trip.
Students toured the Etruscan artifacts exhibit, learning about the Etruscans, the first great rulers of central Italy from around 800 to 100 BCE. They studied the gems, statues, weaponry, jewelry, and terracotta vessels the civilization left behind, gaining valuable context ahead of their hands-on archaeological experience this summer.

QUEST trips engage students in an experiential learning model to increase their understanding of global issues as well as strategies to mitigate the impact of these challenges. During the summers preceding their 10th, 11th, and 12th grade years, students may elect to travel to domestic or international destinations to engage in global issues through service and leadership.
