WFS Snapshot: Week of 08/31

This week kicked off with faculty meetings and professional development , along with a lovely event with our new parents and guardians. And student orientation day did not disappoint, with energy filling both campuses! 
  • The Class of 2027 (and staff members) enjoyed one of their favorite traditions, the annual Ice Cream Social!
  • 8th grade WEB leaders welcomed 6th graders and new students to middle school. Through team-building activities, tours, and helpful tips, WEB leaders offered guidance to help ease the transition to middle school.
  • Lower school students visited their classrooms, met their home-base teachers, and dropped off their school supplies. They were all excited to see all of their friends!
  • 9th graders and new upper school students arrived on campus for orientation. Students were welcomed by members of the LINK crew (upper school student leaders), who help guide 9th graders and new students during their transition to upper school. New students met their teachers, connected with classmates, and participated in fun activities.
  • New families joined us for our annual New Parent & Guardian Reception. Guests were welcomed by Head of School, Ken Aldridge, connected with members of the Home & School Association, and learned about the various ways to get involved in the community.
  • WFS archivist Terry Maguire explained WFS history and Quakerism history to new faculty and staff members.
