Adam Ellick ’95

Class of 1995
Voices of Friends: Emmy-Award Winner, Adam B. Ellick ’95
“I think this value of critical thinking and healthy skepticism was sort of baked into a lot our classes…to question things in a really delightful and curious and fun way. And I think that is also a commandment or tenant of being a journalist, it’s kind of what we do every day. So… I think those things are things that keep me tethered or connected to my time at Friends.”

Adam Ellick, who currently serves as the Director and Executive Producer of Op-Docs and Opinion Video at The New York Times, joined the Quaker Matters Podcast and discusses the impact of the Whittier Miscellany and how it ignited his passion for journalism, the constant changes in journalism over the course of his 20-year career, and what it’s like to win an Emmy.
