Edward J. Gallagher III

In 2014, while pursuing his doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania, Eddie accepted a position as the Head of Middle School at AIM Academy, where he served as the Interim Head of School from June of 2020 until joining Friends in July of 2022.  Eddie, his wife, Rachel, and son, Edward IV, have been living in the Wilmington area since 2020 and "Little Eddie" is a proud member of the lower school learning community.

“My Deeds Must Be My Life” is the credo of Stephen Girard, the Founder of Girard College, and Eddie’s dedication to service has been at the forefront of all of his personal and professional endeavors, especially his beloved Alumni Associations of Temple, HFU, the University of Pennsylvania, and of course Girard.  In 2024 the Girard College Alumni Association Awarded Eddie their highest honor, the prestigious Stephen Girard Award for accomplishments in Career, Service, and Dedication to the Alumni and Students of Girard College.
