Kaylee Ogbeide ’28 Completes Penn Social Innovators Program
Kaylee Ogbeide ’28 was one of three students who completed the Penn Social Innovators Program last spring—a 12-week virtual program centered on social entrepreneurship that awards a certificate from the University of Pennsylvania.
For her project, Kaylee wanted to help student-athletes find a solution to balance demanding academic and athletic schedules. After conducting three experiments, she developed her solution, “Better Friends.”
“Better Friends” is an interactive platform that helps student-athletes hold each other accountable, share their progress, and build consistent study skills. In groups of three, students meet weekly via Zoom to discuss the upcoming week’s assignments and set daily study goals. Moving forward, Kaylee plans to incorporate tutoring sessions into the Zoom meetings.
Reflecting on her work, Kaylee noted, “In this process, I learned that there is no such thing as a perfect outcome. In every experiment, there will be something to adjust and room to grow, which I can carry over to sports and school, reminding myself that better results are possible, but will take time.”
