From Public Relations to Woodworking, Middle Schoolers Put New Skills into Action This Fall
Middle school students are enjoying their first semester electives this fall!
From creating a literary magazine to learning to knit and crochet, middle school students can sign up for various electives each semester that focus on developing a specific skill.
In the “Community Builders” elective, ten students identify and use basic carpentry tools and plan and complete a community project using these skills. Students are choosing to build birdhouses, bat houses, and mini community book libraries to help “build” community.
In the Public Relations Interns elective, 11 students are learning how to serve as school ambassadors. Most recently, these PR interns helped the WFS Alumni/Development team celebrate Homecoming by assisting with Smith McMillan 5K registration and serving lunch to all Homecoming guests.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the year from our middle school electives!
It was wonderful to welcome the Wilmington Friends School Class of 1976 back to campus to celebrate its 50th reunion! Throughout Homecoming Weekend, classmates reconnected, reminisced, and celebrated the friendships and experiences from their time at WFS.
Thank you to all in our community for a wonderful Homecoming 2026! It was great to have so many current families, alumni, and friends on campus for the festivities.
