Chemistry Students Complete Their First Lab

Accelerated Chemistry students completed their first Introductory Lab on Thursday.

Throughout class, students learned the following skills: how to light a Bunsen burner and the anatomy of the flame; how to measure the volume of a liquid with a graduated cylinder; and how to use the digital balance scale to measure the mass of objects.

These skills are instrumental to their learning in this course because they will study the composition, structure, and reactions of matter while connecting the atomic model to large-scale, real-world applications and phenomena.
