Celebrating the Legacy of Bob Trinsey
The WFS volleyball program honored the life and legacy of Coach Bob Trinsey last night. Since 1999, Bob and the Trinsey family have shaped Wilmington Friends School volleyball into one of the state’s most respected programs.
With Bob and his daughter, Barb, leading the varsity program and his wife, Gina, guiding the middle school team, the Trinseys built a unified and enduring program that touched hundreds of student-athletes.
Under Bob’s leadership, WFS volleyball achieved:
- 16 Conference Championships
- 7 DIAA State Semifinal appearances
- 18 State Tournament qualifications in the past 19 seasons
- 2x Delaware Coach of the Year honors
We hold Gina, Barb, and the entire Trinsey family in the Light, and we look forward to carrying on Coach Bob’s legacy through WFS volleyball.

This summer, Felicity Joppa '31 represented the USA at a CISV Youth Meeting in Brasília, the capital of Brazil, with a delegation from Brandywine Valley CISV. Youth Meetings bring 12-13-year-olds from 8 countries together to learn from each other, build global friendships, and work for peace.Read More -
