4th Graders Explore Their Family Heritage

Since Thanksgiving break, fourth graders have been exploring their personal histories through a family heritage project.
Students interviewed relatives and gathered stories to better understand where they come from—learning about family hometowns, names, traditions, favorite dishes, and meaningful connections within their family histories.

This week, students shared their discoveries through PowerPoint presentations, building both research and public-speaking skills along the way. Many also brought in foods connected to their family traditions—a particularly popular part of the project. As they presented, classmates listened closely, asked thoughtful questions, and made connections among their own stories.

Through storytelling, reflection, and hands-on sharing, students developed a deeper appreciation for their own families and for the rich diversity within our community.
