A Favorite Spring Tradition: Conversations, Reflection, and Connection with the Senior Class

Each spring, Head of School Ken Aldridge looks forward to sitting down with our 12th-grade advisory groups for pizza and conversation—an opportunity to connect, reflect, and celebrate the senior class during their final weeks on campus.
He notes, “What continues to amaze and inspire me is the clarity with which they speak about their time here—with honesty, with gratitude, and with a deep sense of connection to the people who shaped their journey.
There is pride and joy in their voices. There is also insight: thoughtful, constructive, and grounded in genuine care for the school, regardless of when they first arrived at Friends.

Moments like these remind me that an important measure of a school is not only what students achieve, but also how they experience their time here—and how they carry that forward.

If we’re listening well, our students will tell us what matters most. I’m grateful for the time with them, and for the trust they place in sharing their perspectives. Thank you, seniors, for your reflections, your laughter, your candor, and your support of Friends.”
