Wilmington Friends School to Host Annual Giving Day on April 17

WFS will host our annual Be Bold for Blue Giving Day on Friday, April 17, 2026. This fundraising event brings the community together to support our mission through Quaker education. This year, the school has set a goal to raise $150,000 from 350 individual donors.
Under the theme “Fill a Bucket, Fuel Our Mission,” you are invited to direct your support to your choice of five key "buckets," allowing for a more personal connection to the impact of your philanthropy.
Help "fill a bucket" in the following areas:
  • Faculty Support: Funds professional development and curriculum innovation, empowering the people who impact our students.
  • Visual and Performing Arts: Ensures that WFS studios and stages remain vibrant spaces for self-expression, supporting everything from lower school music to upper school IB visual arts.
  • Athletics: Provides resources for uniforms, equipment, and facilities that enhance the competitive spirit and physical well-being of student-athletes across all divisions.
  • Experiential Learning: Fuels "learning by doing," including hands-on problem solving, service, and community engagement.
  • Area of Greatest Need: Provides the School with the vital flexibility to meet immediate and shifting priorities.
Head of School Ken Aldridge noted the importance of this collective effort, stating that student growth in the classroom, on the field, and on the stage remains at the heart of the School's work. "Every gift, no matter the size, will help fuel our mission," Aldridge said.

Throughout the week leading up to the 17th, we will celebrate in fun ways on campus and through social media. Learn more or to donate here!
