Lower School Associate Teacher Retreat
Last week, lower school associate teachers participated in a retreat where they discussed Quaker pedagogy, including the art and science of teaching and how it's being practiced at WFS.
They talked about their core values as a teacher and hopes for their time teaching at Friends. The mission of the associate teacher program is to give lead lower school homebase teachers excellent classroom support in their work with students while providing hands-on experience and mentoring to teachers relatively new to the field of education.

Environmental Science Students Build Algae Farms
Upper school environmental science students built model carbon capture algae farms as part of their study of climate change mitigation. They developed ways to measure algae growth using microscopes and a spectrophotometer.Read More -
