WFS Student to Spend School Year Abroad in France
Lilly Zawadzkas '25 said bon voyage yesterday as she headed off on a School Year Abroad adventure to Rennes, France.
Rennes is the capital of Brittany and is located 90 minutes from Paris. While staying with a host family, Lilly will immerse herself in the French language and culture while also taking high school classes. We hope you have a great year, Lilly!

Each student delivered a 3–5 minute presentation reflecting on their growth through the program’s core components: Theory of Knowledge, Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS), and the Extended Essay. Megan Hegenbarth’s Quakerism class took a mindful journey into Alapocas Woods with middle school Spanish teacher Laura Pardo ’90, who studied forest immersion on her sabbatical earlier this year. Guided sensory exercises—listening to rustling leaves, feeling tree bark, noticing the movement of water—helped students support their well‑being by connecting with the present moment, their natural surroundings, and themselves.Read More -
