4th Graders Visit American Swedish Historical Museum

Our 4th grade students traveled to the American Swedish Historical Museum to enhance their Norse studies unit and dive deeper into the Viking Age! 
Students examined Viking-era artifacts while learning about longships, mythology, and trade, created their own Viking rune stones, and even learned to play Viking chess.

Along the way, they explored a 1,000-year-old sword, dressed in Viking armor, and used hands-on activities to better understand this often misunderstood culture — and the ways its influence can still be seen today.
