5th Grade Students Attend “Black History Hall of Fame"

5th grade students attended “Black History Hall of Fame,” a performance by the BrightStar Touring Theatre at The Grand Opera House.
Students followed an inspiring and fast-paced journey through Black History, meeting influential figures such as Maya Angelou, Aretha Franklin, Mae Jemison, and the Buffalo Soldiers. The performance combined music, storytelling, and powerful acting to celebrate courage, creativity, and resilience.

Students made wonderful connections between this performance and their own study of theater as they continue to prepare for the upcoming 5th grade musical, as well as to the notable historical figures they’ve been exploring in class.
