2nd Graders Travel Back in Time

Second graders visited Hagley Museum to explore 19th-century life and kick off their upcoming Inventions Unit!
During their visit, they learned about and participated in hands-on activities that people in the 19th century had to do daily, including: learning how to hand-wash laundry; exploring the kitchen, where they were able to bake cookies (and clean up after themselves); playing with homemade toys; trying on different types of outfits; and using a quill as their writing instrument in the classroom.

They also explored the Nation of Inventors activities, learning about patents, prototypes, and inventions that are connected to the State of Delaware.
