Ninth graders and students new to the upper school were welcomed today by members of the LINK Crew!
They participated in fun bonding games while learning all about schedules, met teachers, participated in diversity training, and figured out their way around the building, leaving excited for the 2021-2022 school year to start next week!
Ninth graders recently met with Abdi Nor Iftin, author of their summer reading book, Call Me American, which depicts Abdi's life in Somalia and his curiosity about Western culture, which ultimately became dangerous and led to him fleeing the country.
Thank you to Gregg Behr and Ryan Rydzewski, authors of the book When you Wonder, You're Learning: Mister Rogers' Enduring Lessons for Raising Creative, Curious, Caring Kids, for their wonderful presentation last week to our school community!
During the 2021-2022 school year, our community is reflecting on the Quaker SPICE of peace, challenging our students, parents/guardians, faculty, and staff to think about peace on both a community and a personal level.
