This week marks the start of choir and band for our lower school students!
Fifth graders had a great first day of choir rehearsal, reviewing procedures, expectations, and then getting right to making music! Students played a game of warm up catch and then used a parachute to move to the form of a song.
Paulo Machado, chair of the visual arts department, recently had a painting on display in the WFS gallery, which was part of a larger body of paintings that use wide uninterrupted brushstrokes on top of darker areas of color as metaphors for conscious attempts to heal.
To recognize National Stress Awareness Day today, the QuakerCares Committee was in the Java Nook asking students to fill out a helpful stress tip or positive thought, which will then be displayed for the community.
