WFS Head of School, Ken Aldridge, was recently accepted to the Headmaster's Association.
Ken will be one of ten new inductees this year to the Association whose membership is kept at 100 Head of Schools/Superintendents from across the country. It offers peer-to-peer exchange and development of professional relationships as well as support from fellow Heads of School grappling with similar challenges unique to leading educational institutions in the twenty-first century. Congratulations, Ken!
Paulo Machado, chair of the visual arts department, recently had a painting on display in the WFS gallery, which was part of a larger body of paintings that use wide uninterrupted brushstrokes on top of darker areas of color as metaphors for conscious attempts to heal.
To recognize National Stress Awareness Day today, the QuakerCares Committee was in the Java Nook asking students to fill out a helpful stress tip or positive thought, which will then be displayed for the community.
