A Legacy of Peace: Kindergarteners Carry Jane Goldberg’s Vision Forward

One of our most beloved traditions will happen today: the Kindergarten Peace March.
Each year, kindergarteners design their own peace signs and march through the Lower School hallways, lifting up the values of peace, justice, and community inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This meaningful tradition was started by Jane Goldberg, a long-time and beloved kindergarten teacher whose love and respect for children was legendary. Jane believed in the inherent goodness of every child and had a remarkable gift for discovering and celebrating the light in each person—a spirit that continues to shine through this march year after year.
