WFS Students Celebrate Earth Day Through Action, Reflection, and Community

WFS students celebrated Earth Day last week. Lower school students took part in a plastic-free lunch, while middle school students explored sustainability through thoughtful discussions and activities in their family groups. More specifically, they focused on these questions:

• What is one small thing I can do today to help take care of the Earth?
• How do my actions affect other living things around me?
• How does caring for the Earth connect with caring for the people in my community?

Middle school teachers Megan Hegenbarth, Kate Hendrix, and Alyssa Watts note, “Earth Day reminds us that we all share a responsibility to care for our planet. Every choice we make—whether it’s reducing waste, conserving resources, or protecting living things—has an impact. Even small actions can make a big difference, and together, we are helping build a healthier future for all.”
